Fender Telecaster™ Guitar and Vocals
John Riggi on Guitar
In his words…
“We all go through stages but now I can play what I want to play. The music I really like to listen to is from the ’50 and 60′s until 72. Music like the Stax, Motown, Doo-wop and Funk. I listen to this… not to sound like them but to include some of their sound in my style.”
Background
John started playing guitar in at 3 years old with a Roy Rogers Guitar. All of the brothers in his family played different instruments. He studied guitar in 7th grade and was classically trained in trombone in High School and College.
John is a leftie that plays a Fender Telecaster™ Guitar. (No he is not playing it backwards so beware if you think you want to sit in). He started his own band in 1998 and realized that singing was something important for him. It took him 5 years to find his own voice and learn the kinds of songs he could perform well with consistency. John Riggi is on the Board of Trustees of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.
John also composes songs and find he is most creative on airplanes and when he has down time like vacation.
